Back to Come Let Us Reason Together

Shiyur ב

Please take your Bris Chadasho and read Besoras Lukas perek א , pasukim כו-לה and Besoras Matisyahu perek א , pasukim יח-כה . These passages establish the background of how Yeshua was born as no one else ever has been, without any earthly father.

Now for this shiyur, please read Besoras Yochanon perek א , pasukim יט-נא . These pasukim focus on telling us about two events. The first is about the formal witness of Yochanon the Toyvler concerning Yeshua ha-Moshiach. The second is the gathering of several talmidim to Yeshua.

Twice Yochanon refers to the Moshiach as the Lamb of Hashem. This introduces us to the fact that Yeshua came into the world to give his life as a Korban for the sins of humanity. Yochanon perek א , posek כט says, “Behold, the Lamb of Hashem, who takes away the sin of the world.” Only he could do this. All the sacrifices that yidn made during the time of the Ohel Moed and the Beis ha-Mikdash were not enough for the permanent forgiveness of sins and could only cover them up until the next korban for sin was sacrificed because animals could never completely remove the sins of humans. Ha-Kodesh Baruch-Hu commanded these korbanos in anticipation of the coming Moshiach, who would completely remove and forgive sin from our lives and provide the gift of salvation for everyone who believes.

Probably all these ideas seem scary to you, but it is more important to believe the truth than to stay comfortable in the darkness of ignorance. If you honestly ask ha-Kodesh Baruch-Hu to allow you to see the truth about the Moshiach, He will not fail to answer your request, nor will He ever lie to you. Once he shows you the truth, however, you must not fail to believe it, no matter how surprising it is or what the cost. So if you dare, ask Hashem right now: “Hashem, please show me the truth about Yeshua and bias ha-Moshiach and help me to believe whatever it is you reveal to me.”
